In this field-based, specialty sales position, the Zone Business Associate is responsible for the successful promotion of Genzyme's portfolio of MS therapies in territories where additional resources/share of voice is required. Within a highly competitive marketplace, the ZBA will be called upon to successfully execute sales launch strategies to meet / exceed demand targets.

The ZBA will be responsible for covering a designated territory on a short-to medium term basis (e.g. period of weeks to months) where a business need for additional coverage has been identified (e.g. due to a vacancy or for other reasons). Geographic flexibility is a must, as ZBAs will be expected to spend 4-5 days each week in the territory they are covering, which could be anywhere in the United States.

The ZBA role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to hone his or her sales skills in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. ZBAs will have the opportunity to travel the country and work with various members of the Genzyme commercial organization. The ZBA role will report to the Zone Development Manager (ZDM) for their zone.

Job Responsibilities:

·  Educate targeted healthcare providers on the benefits of MS therapies within assigned territory or territories
·  Travel to assigned territory or territories during the assigned period of coverage for 4-5 days each week
·  Develop and communicate deep scientific understanding of MS, assigned, and competitive products within the MS marketplace
·  Cultivate and maintain long-term business relationships with key accounts and key opinion leaders within the MS community
·  Develop and implement a territory specific business plan and utilize all available resources to foster a successful sales environment and deliver on business unit objectives
·  Effectively convey complex clinical and reimbursement product information to key stakeholders in a highly competitive marketplace
·  Execute a customer centric needs based selling approach with targeted Healthcare Providers
·  Collaborate effectively with Thought Leader Liaisons, Area Business Managers, Business Relations Managers, Infusion Support Managers, Site Coordinators, Managed Markets, Medical Field and home office teams as required
·  Conduct promotional programs for both professional and patient audiences
·  Achieve and exceed assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
·  Attend local, regional and national meetings as directed

Basic Qualifications:

·  BA/BS Degree Required, Degree in life sciences or business preferred; MBA a plus
·  2+ years of sales experience with proven results; Pharmaceutical sales experience highly preferred, MS or specialty sales experience a plus
·  Must reside within Zone, and have the ability to travel extensively (upwards of 80% travel or more)
·  Geographic flexibility—able to travel to any geography within the United States on a weekly basis for a period of weeks to months with little advance notice
·  Valid driver's license
