Business Internal Control Officer

Job description

The main purpose of this position is to perform internal control related work according to the requirements of BU management team; to implement budget control related policies based on SOPs and ensure the control effectiveness of BU's Internal Control environment; to conduct the internal auditing work and case studies in budget and expense processes, and follow up the improvement plans of the findings. This role is also targeted to set up and improve BU's non-compliance processes covered all four focus lines and central marketing team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Internal process upgrades (70%):

·  To assist BU management to figure out potential internal control risks or deficiencies in budget control processes, design the improvement plan and actions to enhance the performance of budget control workflows;
·  Design the BU internal control manual and maintain a list of active local procedures in place;
·  To understand the business of each focus line, monitor the effectiveness of company policies and internal control systems based on the business demands and changes;
·  Actively communicate and implement the strategic directions from BU management team ;
·  Detect and report to BU management in case of any violation or deviation from SOPs including the compliance rules, laws and other misconduct;
·  Preparation of data for dashboards used by various business leaders, and monitor completeness, quality and the appropriate follow up action plans;
·  Develop a self-testing strategy and program and execute accordingly;
·  Conduct an annual Control Self-Assessment.

Training (15%):

·  Organize internal control trainings and support for training employees on policies and procedures and develop targeted actions to increase internal awareness;
·  Support network members on a daily basis to answer their needs, share good practices and build some pertinent and long-term solutions.

Company Programs involvement (15%):

·  Work closely with various departments in the company to evaluate the operation and execution of the internal processes and systems.

Others:

·  Other ad hoc requirements assigned by line manager.

JOB-HOLDER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

·  Good interpersonal skills, good listener, good convincing capability, ability to align buy-in and support;
·  Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work effectively with cross-functional partners and drive process improvement initiatives across an organization;
·  Sensitive to numbers, assertive in follow-up/drill down the details in case of ambiguity, strong data analysis ability;
·  Experienced in business internal control, and familiar with audit procedures including control test, and substantive test
·  Proactive, good sense of responsibility;
·  Professional business operation and analytical skills is required, must be proficient in PPT and excel;
·  Experience in the Healthcare industry is preferred;
·  Proficiency in conflict negotiation and resolution;
·  Good command of English in both verbal and written: Verbal 3, Writing 4 (5 is highest) or above.

Education:

·  Bachelor degree and above; major in Computer Science, Finance, accounting is preferred

Experience & knowledge:

·  3 yeas or above related working experience in medical industry MNC or Big 4 background is must
