MISSIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION:
Supporting the Internal Control Head on Internal Control tasks such a Self-Assessment and Self-Testing campaigns.
NoBa (North and Baltic Countries)Finance department key mission is to drive value creation for Sanofi and its stakeholders with reliable financial expertise, a holistic business partnering mindset, ensuring compliance and integrity, as well as continuously improve ways of working and protect the business and group assets.
Finance Projects and Internal Control manager’s role within Finance department is to contribute to finance projects assigned to NoBa, working closely with MCO (Multi Countries Organisations) CFO and Finance Business Partners, and maintain a reliable internal control environment under supervision of Head of Internal Control. His/her initiatives aim at ensuring the exhaustiveness of the financial information, the security of assets as well as the compliance with established guidelines and procedures. In addition, his/her actions contribute to the efficiency of business processes and projects.
The position is across 7 NoBa countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden) and therefore requires travel mobility. This role embraces international experience and exposure, as well as good understanding of wide range of processes and MCO/local country specificities. (different cultures, business models, specific MCO set-up)
FINANCE PROJECTS
- Contribute to finance projects, such as finance systems transformations, implementation of new tools and systems, organizational changes and effectiveness improvement (e.g., SBS/Finance governance, operational standardization of processes across MCO countries, carve-out or integration of businesses).
- Participate in Global initiatives and projects as a member of finance team, and ensure that internal control aspects are considered in all new projects, in particular for the ones related to the implementation of new information systems.
- Provide support to NoBa CFO and finance teams in ad hoc projects.
INTERNAL CONTROL
- Provide active support to process owners/departments for the design and formalization of local procedures and ensure that actual processes and controls are adequately described in local procedures.
- Ensure that local procedures, under the responsibility of process owners, are updated and in line with the Group policies, standards and guidance, and verify that local procedures are adequately approved and communicated. Maintain a list of local procedures in place.
- Coordinate individual delegations of authority forms, maintain and update whenever necessary the country/MCO matrix of delegations, consistently with Corporate/Region guidelines.
- Segregation of Duties and Access to Systems:
- jointly with process owners and Head of Internal Control, monitor the definition and enforcement of proper segregation of duties rules, and ensure they are in line with the requirements of the Group policies, standards and guidance;
- jointly with process owners and Information Technology & Solution (if relevant), perform regular reviews of potential user access conflicts in information systems, and propose organization changes and/or mitigating controls.
- Provide support to Head of Internal Control in performing annual Control Self-Assessment for NoBa countries.
- Manage self-testing of mandatory controls in accordance with NoBa testing strategy and planning.
- Support local management in defining and implementing practical remediation plans to address deficiencies identified, and follow-up on action plans implementation progress.
- Collaborate to initiatives aiming at reinforcing internal control within the affiliates and support the departments for training employees on policies and procedures.
CANDIDATE'S PROFILE:
EDUCATION:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Internal Control.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting/finance.
- Relevant experience in external and/or internal audit or other internal control related functions would be considered as advantage.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
EXPECTED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills as well as communication skills to build commitment, create adherence and report to management.
- Ability to think strategically and take a helicopter view, but also be able to dive deep into operational problems.
- Open-minded, loyal and strong personality with good delivery skills and ability to learn quickly.
