Reporting to the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager, the Senior Planner is responsible for the preparation, monitoring and execution of Master Production Schedules (MPS) for purchased components and generates MPS for flex stock. The role is required to monitor the finished goods MPS and liaise with Alcon Research, Huntington West Virginia (HWV), Alcon Precision Device (APD) Sinking Spring, Alcon Grieshaber Schaffhausen (AGS) & Production on execution. Co-ordination of engineering changes, financial reporting of inventory and participation in other ad-hoc projects is also a requirement.
Key responsibilities:
• Create MPS for purchased components and scheduling orders with suppliers.
• Develop inventory and cost reduction proposals.
• Provide an overview of demand and supply of product lines, identifying where adjustments need to be made.
• Oversee MPS generation for flex stock & standard product and co-ordination with HWV.
• Co-ordinate engineering change cut-ins with HWV/Quality Assurance/Production to improve product and minimise obsolescence.
• Manage the introduction of new countries to Package to Order.
• Participate in Global Supply Chain, Global IT and/or Local IT projects.
• Prepare the Monthly Internal Cork S&OP review and liaise with the Global S&OP Group as required.
• Ensure continual quality system compliance by adherence to established and evolving Alcon and Novartis QS requirements.

Desired profile
Minimum requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
• A degree in Business or Engineering and/or APICS Certification
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience and preferably >5 years’ experience in a Planning role
• Strong data analytical skills and systems knowledge (Excel/ERP)
• Good negotiation and communication skills
• Good written and verbal skills.
• Excellent Problem Solving Skills & Timely Decision Maker
• Self-Driven & Motivated
