•Responsible for coordinating and providing day to day guidance to a team that performs a combination of manual and clerical functions in shipping and receiving, inventory control, picking and packing, and storage in a distribution center.
•Additional functions of the team may include the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data.
•Acts as logistics facilitator to ensure all elements of the distribution process are coordinated in such a way that customer requirements and time constraints are met.
•May include responsibility for distribution of samples and promotional literature, domestic and/or international shipping, and/or administering safety programs.
•Plan and coordinate warehouse operations to ensure scheduling of all distribution services including receiving, cross-docking, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities meet customer expectations in an efficient and quality manner.
•Ship finished good orders to Pharmaceutical/Consumer customers in an accurate and timely manner.
•Coordinate operations in a regulatory compliant manner (FDA, GMP, OSHA, DOT, PDMA, SOX, Quality Systems, etc.) including operation of the distribution center in a safe manner (zero lost time accidents.)
•Maintain effective communications with various functions (Customer Service, Planning, Production) and coordination lines with our customers.
•Provide input to Management and Customer Service on issues that will assist in identifying resolutions for customer problems with orders/returns.
•Proficient in the use of the key logistics operating systems (One World, SAP, Siebel, CatsWeb, Plateau, DCM, DLx and MMS) to effectively coordinate the day to day operations.
•Facilitate the accurate and timely shipments of orders.
•Coordinate the accurate and timely movement of interdepartmental transfers, as well as transfers to the International Warehouse and other facilities.
•Due to fluctuating market and business needs, it may be necessary to work late and on weekends.
•The candidate must exhibit leadership skills as well as a mastery of multiple job functions as listed above.
•The candidate must possess an attention to detail and heightened focus on quality and compliance.
