The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of scientists in the exploratory immuno-oncology group, playing a key role in the evaluation of new drug candidates in vivo and in vitro as well as working to enhance our understanding of validated targets. Ideal applicants will possess excellent knowledge of tumor immunology, communication and organizational skills, critical problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to excellence. Previous experience with syngeneic tumor models and immunology is an advantage.

This position will involve the use of in vivo models including, but not limited to, syngeneic mouse tumor models, humanized mouse models and the use of murine knockout/knockin models to better understand mechanisms of cancer immunotherapy pathways. Experience in profiling of tumor infiltrating immune cells is required. In addition, the candidate will be required to support the development and use of in vitro immune cell function assays to explore drug development pathways and molecules.

Candidate will be responsible for:
•Performing exploratory and preclinical studies including, but not limited to, efficacy, PK and PD analysis of syngeneic tumor models.
•Profiling of tumor infiltrating immune cells using multi-color flow cytometry.
•Development of novel ex vivo assays to further explore the impact of pathway blockade on the functionality of tumor infiltrating immune cells.
•Development of in vitro immune function assays for both human and mouse immune cells.
•Documentation, analysis and interpretation of experiments for the evaluation of pre-clinical candidates as potential therapeutic agents.
•Written and verbal presentation of results within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

A BS/MS level degree in one of the life sciences, with expertise in the in vivo validation of immune targeting therapie with at least 2 years industry experience or equivalent in academia. Experience using flow cytometry techniques to analyze tumor infiltrating immune cells is required. Industry experience with syngeneic mouse tumor models is an advantage. Knowledge of designing in vitro immune cell function assays for both human and mouse systems is required. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of immuno-oncology research, particularly related to industrial drug discovery and development, with emphasis on validation of the in vivo activity of immuno-oncology therapies. The candidate is also expected to be highly motivated, to have excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
