General Description
Purpose of the Role: The goal of this internship is to investigate and optimize deep learning models for mobile devices. The prospective intern will investigate use of techniques like pruning, quantization and knowledge distillation to reduce the size of Samsung's existing deep learning models. The intern will also investigate ways to accelerate the neural network inference by investigating and implementing state of the art techniques. The prospective intern will have an opportunity to work on production environments and solve industry relevant problems. Accepted interns will be a part of a dynamic group working and collaborating with experts in Android, Vision and AI. Interns at Samsung Research UK are encouraged to write high quality research papers/patents towards the end of their internship. It is expected that the successful applicant will currently be studying for a Master's level degree or a doctorate in Computer Science or a related subject.
