Job description

Purchasing Implementation Lead:
Scope:
• Project manage the implementation of nominated products with nominated suppliers from supplier selection through to robust production deliveries and handover to the Production team.

Mission:

1: On time delivery
• Develop the industrialisation plan & milestones with the Supplier and SafranLS TOR personnel if not already in place
• Liaise with the Supplier and SafranLS TOR personnel (Commodity Buyers, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Laboratory, Procurement, technical support etc…) to ensure that all activities are completed in a timely manner in support of the program schedule
• In the event of delays in any activities, identify and put in place mitigating actions to recover to the required program schedule
• Identify any risks related to the industrialisation activity and manage them in accordance with the Safran risk procedure. Ensure hot topics are properly resolved, escalating to Program Buyer if unable to resolve them
• Publish the industrialisation dashboard on a weekly basis and provide any other additional reporting required

2: Configuration & cost control

• Understand changes in configuration and flow these through to the Supplier & the Commodity Buyer. Support the Commodity Buyer in any resulting cost negotiations (RC & NRC) and notify the relevant Purchasing personnel and the Estimating team of the anticipated and negotiated cost impact.
• Send validated models, drawings and specifications to suppliers
• Proactively seek cost reduction opportunities during the industrialisation process and minimise any potential increases that might arise due to requirements changes.
• Ensure no actions that could lead to cost increases are launched without formal approval.
• Drive any cost reduction plans that are identified and validated to be launched.

3: General

• Respect the Safran purchasing process in accordance with EN9100 and Safran rules

Desired profile

Purchasing Program Buyer Analyst:
Maintaining and improving development programs Purchasing Key Performance Indicators, in liaison with Finance (Estimating), contract coverage, recurring cost, cost savings.

Ensuring that all Purchasing Cost reduction actions are achieved by Commodity Buyers.

Making Progress reports for the main cost savings actions.

Participate in the Operation Change Board in order to collect the Purchasing Actions.

Tracking and supporting Request for Proposal
Supporting Commodity Buyers working on Development Program Projects (scope of work & planning)

Candidate skills & requirements

Competences required
• Engineering degree preferred, and/or 3+ years purchasing experience working on new Program Introduction or similar.

• Manufacturing process awareness

• Commercially aware with experience in cost reduction processes,
• Analytical and rigorous with project management skills

• Team player

• Strong communication skills at all levels, including the ability to summarize and simplify complex subjects

• Aerospace experience strongly preferred
