Job description

Context:

TurboTech is a 50-50 joint venture founded by Safran Aircraft Engines (Safran AE) and Aero Engine Cooperation of China – South industry (AECC-SI), which aims at developing low pressure turbine and flame tube for a new generation of turboprop engine via advanced manufacture and numerical techniques.
Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies are known to allow the production of parts with an extreme degree of complexity, enabling design and functional part optimization. However, the resulting mechanical properties of AM materials, especially high-temperature alloys (e.g. nickel based superalloy) are not well understood due to unique and complex thermal cycles during processing. To incorporate such special mechanical behaviors into numerical simulations enabling design, a database of mechanical properties, e.g. tensile properties, fatigue and creep properties, of AM nickel based superalloy plays a fundamental role. In addition, such database can also permit AM process optimization via an inverse approach. The internship consists in building a data base arranging the corresponding information available in the literature. The candidate is required to construct a database according to internal specifications for subsequent data mining and machine learning studies.

Job Responsibility:

• AM material database construction.
