TurboTech is a 50-50 joint venture founded by Safran Aircraft Engines (Safran AE) and Aero Engine Cooperation of China – South industry (AECC-SI), which aims at developing low pressure turbine and flame tube for a new generation of turboprop engine via advanced manufacture and numerical techniques.
Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies are known to allow the production of parts with an extreme degree of complexity, enabling design and functional part optimization. However, due to the complexity of the process, the relationship between process parameters and resulted microstructural and mechanical properties is not fully understood in both industrial and academic communities. TurboTech aims at applying AM to manufacture aircraft engine component which works under extreme in-service conditions. Therefore, following the technical evolutions of AM, especially from a scientific perspective, is crucial for the development of the joint venture. The internship consists in developing a numerical tools allowing for scrape the data related to AM in an automatic and efficient way.
• Develop a web scraper to collect relevant AM publications
• Integrate the collected information into the in-house AM database
Candidate skills & requirements
• Hold a bachelor degree in engineering, statistics, applied mathematics or computer science or other relevant majors;
• Demonstrated experience with data scraping technique (e.g. scrapy)
• Familiar with database management tool (e.g. MongoDB);
• Demonstrate a great ease of Python programming;
• Basic knowledge of additive manufacturing;
• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken);
• Knowledge of French is a plus.
