The Trainer/Sr. Trainer roles can be focused on different areas of training – sales, brand or clinical.

The general purpose of this role is to develop and execute a full training curriculum to support assigned Commercial, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs trainings. This role will apply in depth knowledge of a specific area, general field-related experience and specific product and marketplace knowledge to facilitate trainings for sales and marketing groups. The position will work within a core learning and development support team made up of managers, trainers, project managers and administrative staff. These teams work closely with internal and external partners/stakeholders to ensure alignment of training programs with organizational objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

·  Create and deliver trainings that drive role effectiveness for the targeted audience.
·  Leverage understanding of the sales teams' needs, perspective and capability in creating high quality trainings with the agility to adapt to a rapidly changing competitive environment. Understand effective adult learning principles. Apply instructional design in creating relevant and manageable training materials and programs.
·  Establish partnerships with various teams and their leadership within the organization (i.e., Market Planning, Competitive Intelligence, Legal, Marketing and/or Sales) to ensure accuracy and quality of training content.
·  Serve as a training expert to Genentech by identifying current gaps in training content and strategy, creating implementation plans and managing stakeholders.
·  Be proficient with required knowledge in the respective area of training – sales, brand or clinical – to incorporate necessary skills and behaviors into training content, materials and programs to ensure maximum effectiveness.
·  Ensure that all trainings designed and delivered are fully aligned with Genentech's standards and operational objectives. Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs and training materials.
·  Complete all compliance training requirements. Reinforce with team the importance of adhering to compliance policies. Raise questions proactively and seek advice as needed.

At the Sr. level:

Incumbents in the Sr. Trainer role are expected to demonstrate a higher level of leadership , impact and experience than what is expected in the Trainer role.

They are expected to:

Assist with onboarding new team members and consistently mentor CMG Training & Development employees.

· 
Be involved in higher-level stakeholder management.

· 
Utilize expertise and experience to support Genentech stakeholders.

Demonstrate ability to act with greater autonomy and leadership in developing and delivering training and executing stakeholder management.

Qualifications & Experience:

· 
Bachelor's Degree is required; Graduate level or higher degree is preferred

· 
3 or more years' work experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries is required

· 
Previous field experience in sales or customer facing role is preferred

· 
Business travel by air or car is required for regular internal and external business meetings
