The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Leveraging the education you received already, we hope to give you an opportunity to grow and develop with us! Additionally, the selected intern will be asked to participate in various intern activities, which may include workshops with leaders in the organization, our mentor program, and our Poster Symposium among other activities.

Roche Diagnostics has created a new business - Diagnostics Information Solutions (DIS) - that is charged with building a modern software stack that will change the way patients are cared for. Our challenge is to bring together complex diagnostic and treatment data to intelligently process and present this data to healthcare professionals which allow for improved patient care. The Position:

You will join a team of 10+ engineers in crafting solutions to some of the most complex data pipeline problems in the world in diagnostics today, there are 18 Billion data points generated in systems that are not only inaccessible but were never designed to talk to each other. You will be helping create enterprise-scale software systems to tackle the fragmentation of this data. You will be up close and personal with all the usual things, like design conception, design reviews for components or features, development and testing of the core software stack. How you will spend your time:

·  Your Responsibilities:
·  Software Development: This is a hands-on you're writing high-quality code for software that will perform at scale, be supportable, and be extensible, kind of role.
·  Process & Operations: Ensuring the software stack integrates with our existing CI pipeline and contributing to continuous improvements; independently design, plan and deliver high-quality software.
·  Leadership: Ensuring we amplify our culture. Embody our value for technical excellence, integrity and support and compassion for individuals

·  Qualifications:
·  Currently enrolled in BS or MS Computer Science or in a related area.
·  Hands-on software development experience in Java, Python, JavaScript or similar language.
·  Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular is plus.
·  Commitment to agile practice, and scalable architecture.
·  Ability to understand complex workflows and develop and validate innovative solutions to solve difficult problems

Program Requirements:

•Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2020
•Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.
•Must have a ≥3.0 GPA
•Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poster Symposium).
•Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia
