At Roche, we believe data analytics methods can facilitate physicians' effort to provide better care. In the Data and Analytics Chapter, we leverage the potential of knowledge gained from data. You will have the opportunity to leverage your knowledge in industry, working with our data scientists around the world with diversified background and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

As a data science intern, you will research and implement data analytical techniques and methodologies based on different sources of data that will enable our business partner to make their decisions.

You will be working on:

· 
Financial Forecasting. You will be working with finance experts from the local office as well as the economists and data scientists from global functions. Your work includes but not limits to: learn the existing forecasting models as well as the business context, come up with ideas of how to adapt the model to France and if we could have innovative methods to enhance the performance. The capability to implement and prototype models is required.

· 
Natural Language Understanding. We have already implemented some models on NLP, and some projects are ongoing, like EHR understanding and customer profiling. You will be invited to join our work on this topic, getting involved in global projects and finding opportunities to extend our applications in France.

· 
Research topic sharing. As a data science team, we are always looking for innovative ideas, from both industries and academia. Though we are located in different locations, regular meetings will be held and our research interest/outcomes will be shared. You are also invited to join our discussion to share your thoughts and we are interested in making your idea happen.

Qualifications

· 
Graduate level (master or phd ongoing) academic ground in computer science/system engineering/statistics/mathematics.

· 
Demonstrated research capability or project experience in mathematical modeling /statistical modeling/ complex system engineer, etc.

· 
Hands-on programming experience (Python, R, etc) along with a solid understanding or knowledge of statistical and machine learning models. You have experience in implementation statistical learning methods or deep learning frameworks to solve problems.

· 
Keen on expanding your experience and leveraging analytics methodologies in a world leading pharmaceutical company.

· 
Excellent communication and effective problem-solving skills, track record in serving a variety of diverse customers and projects

· 
Ability to work independently, prioritize within an interdisciplinary environment that includes scientists, engineers, business and consultant.
