Role and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will report to an R&D Team Leader, and will work within a team of scientists to conceptualize and develop a strategically aligned portfolio of products for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) applications.
Key responsibilities:
·
Carry out high-level and early-stage proof-of-concept research to explore and validate new product ideas.
·
Contribute to a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other departments to ensure effective product launch and support.
·
Conduct regular project progress reviews to communicate key findings, conclusions and implications for project scope to internal stakeholders.
·
Keep detailed and complete records of all experiments and project-related information.
Qualifications and education requirements include:
Requirements:
·
BSc (Hons), MSc or PhD in one or more relevant subjects such as molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioinformatics.
·
The ability to critically evaluate and interpret experimental results.
·
In-depth knowledge and practical experience of a broad range of molecular biology techniques.
·
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
·
The ability to multitask, and to perform consistently under pressure.
·
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
·
Well-developed communication skills and ability to articulate key findings within cross-functional teams.
Preferences:
·
Familiarity with major commercial NGS technologies, platforms and applications will be beneficial.
·
Practical experience with qPCR and/or NGS will be beneficial.
·
Experience in product/assay development will be beneficial.
