That is why we come to work each day. We commit ourselves to scientific rigour, unassailable ethics, and access to medical innovations for all. We do this today to build a better tomorrow.

The Position:
The Neuroscience Discovery group in Basel is responsible for the identification and validation of targets, the selection and characterization of drug candidates, as well as the scientific aspects of projects aiming at the identification of new medicines for diseases of the central nervous system. Our task is to support ongoing research projects using molecular pharmacological methods in order to understand the mode of action of novel compounds.

As an Intern in the Neuroscience Discovery group you will:

In particular, your work will focus on evaluating and comparing the efficacy of such molecules in vivo evaluating both target occupancy and target engagement of these compounds.
·  Use state of the art techniques including LC-MS and activity based proteome profiling (ABPP) to evaluate efficacy of the compounds tested.
·  Evaluate the effect of selected compounds in a in vivo model of neuroinflammation.
·  Be part of a team of 5 biologists, work alongside a research associate during your internship and be under the supervision of a laboratory head.

We are keen to discover talents who are passionate about learning and show great curiosity in discovering new things. At the Roche Headquarter site in Basel/Kaiseraugst, employees from over 90 countries are doing now what our patients need next. We contribute our share towards achieving our mission and to make our vision of personalized healthcare happen.
