The position:
This position is placed in Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). The Early Biomarker Development Oncology group supports drug development related decisions, using automated image analysis of tissue samples and data exploration for reverse translation. We are looking for interns with expertise in data analysis and understanding of image processing for analysis of digital pathology data. Knowledge in cancer biology would be appreciated.

During the internship your tasks will include:

· 
Spatial data analysis of digital pathology data, including the use of clustering and machine learning methods to answer exploratory questions

· 
Data retrieval from internal databases

· 
Selection and implementation of suitable visualization methods for communication of analysis outcomes

As an intern in our group, you will have the chance to interact with a multicultural team of pathologists, biomarker experts, clinical and imaging scientists.

Your profile:

Student (m/f) in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering or a related field degree

· 
Knowledge of R (preferred) and/or Python

· 
Knowledge of Matlab

· 
Good level of spoken and written English

· 
Understanding of image processing techniques is preferred

· 
Domain knowledge in oncology and tissue biomarkers would be a plus

· 
Communicative and interested in working in a multicultural and interdisciplinary team

· 
Available for a minimum of 6 months
