The Patent Operation Team is globally responsible for filing national, international and European patent applications, managing the Roche patent portfolio and ensuring efficient and effective operation of all related processes. In this challenging position at Roche Patent Department in Basel, you will take up a role as Assistant Filing Specialist. You will support the Global Patent Operations Filing Team to complete a range of administrative duties to ensure that our global patent rights are safely and properly filed. You have the ability to effectively communicate via phone and email and ensuring that all administrative duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality in a timely manner. Your main duties are:
·  Support the Global Patent Operations Filing Team in all administrative matters
·  Manage and maintain monthly Q-Reports accurate and consistent
·  Assist Filing Specialists in handling and processing of all priority applications, foreign filing in PCT and non PCT countries, PCT national/regional phase entry and European validation process
·  Obtain the required signatures from inventors, applicants etc.
·  Ensure notarization/legalization according to the national requirements
·  General assistant and secretary task's management of a team secretary's and provide back-up support for Assistant Monitoring Specialist

Position Expectations/ Who you are:
·  Commercial degree or equivalent education preferred and at least 3 years' work experience as a legal/patent assistant
·  Good oral and written communication skills in English and German, good computer skills
·  Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals, as well as the ability to work independently, good planning, prioritization and organizational skills, excellent administrative/secretarial skills, including attention to details
·  Cooperation and the ability to collaborate in a team, including cross-office, ability in dealing with highly confidential information, ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven Environment
