Our Department is buying all the Electrical and Electronics for Volvo Group Trucks Operations. The department consists of three buying groups located in Göteborg and Lyon.
The Electrical and Electronics Purchasing of Volvo GTO is a global organization responsible for the Direct Material buying activities of Electronic and Electrical components, modules and solutions for the truck customers worldwide: Volvo, Renault, Mack and UD.
Our main purchases spread from advanced electronics (ECU’s, Instrumentation Clusters, Audio Systems, active safety electronics) to power storage, supply and distribution (Batteries, Alternators and Wiring Harnesses).

missions:
Bring Purchasing expertise in estimating supplier tooling cost throughout the project phase.
- Ensure deliverables from suppliers to fulfill APQP (Audit Plan Qualité Produit) activities handled by SQA (Suppliers Quality Assurance).
- Negotiate technical changes between contract and actual project needs, ensuring alignment to cost objectives.
- Ensure that supplier is prepared for production, including all needed system updates; require actions from Supplier Host when needed.
- Plan and drive the purchasing related SIPD (Supplier Involvement in Product Development)
activities after supplier selection.
- Contribute to Project Purchasing Review Meetings (PPRs) with project performance input.
- Compile and deliver QDCF results from project phase and secure a timely hand-over to the Operation buyer
- Ensure collaboration with the other buyer roles within the respective segment(s).
Profile and qualities:
- University degree in Purchasing or Electronics Engineering or Business/Economics
- Enjoy doing business
- Experience in purchasing will be a plus
- An analytic nature
- Experience in project management
- The job position requires that you are a team player and a self-starter, with the ability to take initiatives and actively participate or coach different projects
- Good prioritization skills and target /result oriented approach
- Excellent in communication and we highly appreciate a positive attitude & mindset
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
