Group Truck Purchasing is looking for an Adaptation Parts Buyer within our Adaptation Parts team in Europe.
Uptime, adaptation & synergies is a global organization within GTP supporting service parts purchasing, vehicle adaptation purchasing and aiming at building strong purchasing synergies amongst the various Purchasing organization of the Volvo group
- Uptime purchasing focuses on ensuring customer uptime by building relationship and engaging suppliers throughout the life cycle
- Adaptation Purchasing supports three different areas: Customer Adaptation (CA), Special Vehicles (SV), Trailers and Superstructures (TST)
- Group synergy hosts GTP South America and GTP India as Group Purchasing synergies pilot to capitalize on potential Synergy opportunities among all Purchasing entities within Volvo Group
Position Description
Our team of Adaptation – Parts is leading all purchasing activities with internal and external stakeholders to secure adaptation vehicle offers for Volvo trucks and Renault trucks. We are a dynamic continental team of buyers located in Sweden and France on 5 sites.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage and develop your purchasing portfolio and the daily working relationship with your suppliers
- Execute purchasing activities including sourcing in Customer Adaptation & Special Vehicle Projects in collaboration with the Purchasing Project Manager (PMP) to secure supplier QDCF-TSR performance in the projects
- Search for opportunities to improve cost and take action to implement findings
- Continuously assess the business climate and conditions affecting assigned supplier base
- Develop existing and potential suppliers. Perform purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics and financial flows to suppliers
- Secure that purchasing acts in accordance with expectations from internal stakeholders and external customers
- Secure and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
- Strive to increase the sales by offering supplier concept to the trucks brands
- Define strategies for the segments in the scope
- Contribute to the development of the Purchasing process for customer specific offering business (Customer Adaptation & Special Vehicle)
- Be active in the team development and support your colleagues
Profil:
- Business acumen
- University degree in Business, Engineering or related field
- Min 2 years’ experience in Purchasing and/or negotiation experience in a supplier/customer relationship, with a proven track record
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Positive attitude, service minded and target oriented approach
- Strong team player with the ability to lead
- Multicultural experience is an asset
- Willingness to travel occasionally
