Job description

Critical to this role is the ability to turn insights into action. The Category Specialist works with the Trade Marketing Manager to develop and coordinate the trade marketing & insights activities to maximize the potential of the Red Bull brand in the trade whilst maintaining the brand personality & values. He/She should support developing the strategy of the sales team and enable the execution & measurement of that strategy via sales team. This includes all means of communication (internal, trade & shopper), internal coordination between marketing and sales, Category Management projects, trial activities and sales analysis to generate insight. In general, the job holder will co-ordinate and project manage all trade-led marketing activities.

·  MAKING THE DATA AND INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO ALL DEPARTMENTS:

・Reporting: Build and update regular reports (Trade Sales, Offtake Sales, Shopper Profile and Habits…) in order to make data and information available to the Sales Team, Top Management, and other Departments.

・Improve current reporting by proposing simpler/more adapted/more complete report formats.

・Tools: Responsible for making sure that the right tools to measure business performance are available.

Know and understand the tools provided by HQ as well as those under development. Assess the need for specific tools to resolve important local business issues and make proposals for implementation.

・Adhoc Support: provide adhoc support on data extract to Top Management, Sales team members and other departments.

・Cross Departments relationship: ensure good relationship and connections with all departments in order to be the link between all departments (Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing), and ensure an efficient information flow in the organization.

·  ANALYZE THE DATA TO TURN IT INTO VALUABLE AND ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS

・ The Category Specialist will combine different sources of information and present the most important business developments to sales management, and proposes routes of action that focus on the right business priorities.

・ Through data analysis from all sources, the Category Specialist will:

 Answer to questions related to market and sales trends

 Support on the Sales strategy building by providing data driven insights

 Create actionable insights and turn them into Conceptual Sells to provide to the Key Accounts, Management team, Off Premise

・ Responsible for the coordination of all Global Standards.

・ Perfect Store Standards: Defines the Perfect Store standards by channel for their market and defines clear availability, visibility and communication standards for each of the four sales drivers.

・ Perfect Store Audit: Responsible for running the Perfect Store Audit in their market. This means setting standards, finalizing store lists and briefing the agency to run the audit as well as budgeting for the audit.

・ Insights: Responsible for ensuring insights are understood and that clear points of action are determined to address opportunities and issues.

・ Main Placement: support on Planogram analysis and recommendations to accounts.

・ Promotion: identify and outlines promotional tactics by channel and by SKU. Analyze efficacy of Off-Premise promotional strategies and propose future improvements.

·  TURN INSIGHTS INTO ACTIONS

・ Category management: Support to run Category Management projects with the identified top customers. Interpret the available data and shopper insight to come up with a tailored action plan that will grow Category turnover in that customer. Analyze the results of the Category Management projects to ensure efficiency and duplicate if successful. Category Management projects include:

 Category Assortment assessment and recommendation

 Category Planogram assessment and recommendation

 Cold cans at cashier

 Consumer price recommendation

 Ambient secondary placement projects

 Innovative POS projects to drive category sales

 E-commerce Category Management

 Recommend and support trade activity proposals with commercial backing, pushing the brand guidelines whilst protecting the brand image.

Desired profile

Your experience includes:

(proven performance in)

· 3 years of experience in the FMCG sector. Ideally in Business Insights Management, Category Management or POS Management.

· Motivation, Team Skills & entrepreneurial spirit.

· Clear understanding of markets, sales & distribution, competitor activity, consumer behavior in FMCG context.

· Strong analytical ability and commercial acumen to understand financial statements and market trends. Strategic thinking able to lead the sales strategy.

· Fluent in written and spoken English is plus. Very strong MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) skills.

· Presentation skills.

· Ability to work in a “self-guided” manner.

· University Degree (business, marketing or similar).

· Fluent English (TOEIC 850 and above) and Native Japanese
