Job Title

School and college leaver, Tax, Indirect Tax, Reading, 2018
Job Description

The PwC Deal
No matter which area of the business you choose to join, all routes offer the same deal. The opportunity to grow as an individual, to meet new people, and build lasting relationships that will stay with you for life. Your hard work will be rewarded with a competitive salary and a personally tailored benefits package.

School and College Leaver programme
A position on our School and college leaver programme is one of the best ways of jumping into a career with PwC early. You'll learn and develop the specialist skills our clients look for and value most and study towards a professional qualification, with support from us all the way.

The work is varied and includes investigating and analysing operational and financial risk, processes, systems and controls in order to make recommendations for improvement. Good communication, analytical skills and a strong eye for detail are therefore really important.

Tax
Your knowledge will help high-profile businesses, entrepreneurs and family businesses understand complex rules and make informed decisions with significant impacts. You'll also help governments ensure the efficient operation of tax systems, and use your insight to solve long-term problems. You'll be part of a business that's committed to proactively engaging with the tax policy debate and focused on leading views and new ideas.

Indirect Tax
You’ll join a growing network that works with clients across a range of sectors – including financial services, consumer products, technology and energy – each with its own specific indirect tax challenges. You’ll advise businesses on VAT and other indirect taxes, including international trade issues linked to Customs and Excise Duties.

What you'll do
You can specialise in:

·  Corporate Tax
·  Indirect Tax
·  Compliance
·  People and Organisation

By joining Tax you’ll also be involved with our innovative One Tax Rotation programme. This gives you the opportunity to work outside your core team in Tax for up to six months, learn from different clients and develop your transferable skills.

What you'll gain
You'll enjoy plenty of practical, on-the-job training while studying for a professional qualification with the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). This takes two years to complete and we'll give you study leave to go to college plus plenty of support, but you'll need to study in your own time too. The hard work will be worth it though when you pick up your qualification. And the great thing is, by the time you complete your exams, you'll have lots of valuable experience to build on.

What you need to get in

·  You'll need to have or be on course for 96 UCAS tariff* (or equivalent)
·  You'll need to have a Grade C or above in GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent)

*from up to three A Levels (excluding General Studies) or equivalent, taken in the same academic year and achieved at first sitting

Please note that if you have a degree, you may find our graduate opportunities more appropriate. Having a degree does not lead to faster progression through this programme.

Do you need sponsorship to work in the UK?
We can't provide sponsorship for our school leaver roles.

We know that the skills and experiences you develop with us will stay with you throughout your career. So join PwC. We'll help you reach your full potential.

Take the opportunity of a lifetime.
