MSL is currently seeking an Account Executive to join our public affairs and corporate teams in the Washington, D.C. office. We’re looking for a bright, talented individual who is willing to roll up their sleeves and dive into meaningful work. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills, be knowledgeable about policy issues in Washington, and be an excellent project manager. MSL provides exposure to extensive experience in the world of communications, and will provide the ideal candidate the opportunity to be involved in executing integrated campaigns across multiple communications channels, markets in North America and internationally. We work for many of the world’s most prestigious companies, offering a variety of exciting communications challenges. Responsibilities: • Participate in the execution of PR plans and the day to day account activities, including writing and editing, project management, media relations, and overall client satisfaction. • Research and develop written communications for a variety of audiences – taking the form of newsletters, op-eds, memos, vision plans, and press releases. • Report on national politics and policies as well as trends in the public affairs space. • Leverage traditional media, as well as digital technologies for PR programming and influencer outreach. • Monitor the media through newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcast, newswire, trade publications, and blogs for client opportunities and challenges. • Leverage knowledge of the latest communications tactics and capabilities, and a strategic vision, to support innovation across our public affairs in our D.C. office • Utilize digital/emerging technologies for PR programming and influencer outreach. • Project manage both short assignments and long term projects by monitoring budgets, creating metrics around goals, and creating reports. • Support new business efforts including lead generation, conducting research, writing proposals, and participation in pitches. Requirements: • BA/BS degree in communications or a related field. • 2+ years of experience in public relations in an agency, on the Hill, or with an association. • Excellent writing and editing skills. • A strong understanding of the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of current online/digital technology and social media. • Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. • Ability to work on a large team with the desire to be a team player. • Understanding of account management and budget tracking. • Ability to handle stressful situations and tight deadlines. • A team player that is agile and personable. • Self-starter who can move quickly and get the job done.
