Description

Procter & Gamble / Gillette in Andover, MA has an immediate need for licensed electricians to support the operation on shift. The Andover Plant is a Global Shave Prep site (Gillette) which houses Manufacturing, Engineering and some R&D operations. Working within a dynamic and highly skilled group you will develop the required skills and knowledge to be successful. The daily work consists of electrical trouble shooting, maintenance and improvement work in the manufacturing part of the Plant. In addition you will be involved in starting up and developing new equipment to support our growing operation. Candidate must possess a current Massachusetts State Journeymen's Electrician license and must maintain license requirements.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience and electrical troubleshooting and improvement work, as well as proficiency with at least one of the following equipment or tools :

· Have experience with controls/automation and associated electrical skills/knowledge
· PLC programming and trouble shooting
· Operator Interface Systems - hardware and software
· Motion Control Systems - hardware and software
· Electrical Design Implementation - codes and standards
· Vision Systems
· Networks and other industrial communication protocols
· Sensors and Detectors
· PC based operating system and hardware experience & good computer skills
· Knowledge of electrical code (NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEC, CE, etc.)

Ability to successfully lead teams toward exceptional results and to engage others to reach their fullest potential is required. Innovative thinking and creative problem-solving are critical for success as the individual will also be involved in developing and installing new equipment and manufacturing processes.

E&I Technicians do various types of work under minimal supervision including, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical control systems, process control systems, instrumentation, and operator interface terminals for large scale manufacturing. These systems contain multiple PLCs, Servos, HMIs, Instruments and Inspection systems. This also includes developing and starting up new equipment. E&I Technicians are responsible for keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals and maintaining the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products. Technicians are expected to get involved, take charge of situations and confront business-related problems.

In order to perform the work described above in our manufacturing atmosphere, Plant Technicians use basic hand and power tools; lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend; enter confined spaces; and stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time. Further, Technicians have and are able to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment; maintaining accurate records and data; strong technical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of computers. Additionally, the safety of Technicians is of great importance to Procter & Gamble. Technicians will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety shoes, ear protection, eye protection and arc flash protection.

The Andover Procter & Gamble Plant operates on a standard 5-day work week. Technicians may be required to work overtime including weekends as needed. Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the Plant to occasionally change the length of work shifts or the rotation schedule. The hours of work are typically 8 hours per day. Technicians must be willing to work any shift.

Qualifications

All applicants must:

· Be 18 years of age or older
· Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
· Wear required safety personal protective equipment (Eye Protection, Ear Protection, Safety Shoes)

Must have and maintain Massachusetts Electrical Journeymen License
