1 / MISSION:
To lead the engineering change control process within the plant in accordance with OPTICHANGE (DIV.04.PR.04) to ensure each change is delivered in compliance with Safety, Quality and Risk Management requirements.
2 / MAIN ACTIVITIES:
To coordinate the engineering change network of departmental representatives in order to maintain an overview of all changes
Organise regular meetings to update the change log – report key actions in daily meeting
Liaise internally with departments such as Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Purchasing, Sales, Master Data to requirements are understood
Troubleshoot problems as they occur and assist with root cause analysis.
After go-live ensure processes are return to target level before closing a change
Prepare status reports, particularly blocking points to Management team
Able to present engineering change control process to both internal and external auditors.
3 / REQUIRED SKILLS AND JOB EXPERIENCE:
Industrial experience preferably of Automotive industry
Tenacity to complete each change thoroughly
Attention to detail as well being able to see the big picture
Able to work with all layers of management as there will be occasion to escalate
3.1 EDUCATION BACKGROUND
Ideally Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or similar experience
3.2 KNOWLEDGE
Must have change control experience
APQP Process knowledge
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
CAD skills are desirable
SAP skills are desirable
English : good reading and writing skills
3.3 RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain the engineering change logs
The decisions or initiatives taken by the employee may have cost / supply impact therefore, careful consideration should be taken and advice must be sought where required.
3.4 WORK ORGANISATION
The tasks have to be accomplished in accordance with the committed engineering change plans.
Interfaces :- Paint Area Manager, Injection Area Manager, Assembly Area Manager, HS&E Advisor, Project managers, Programme Managers and Shift Mangers
3.5 RELATIONS
Team player, effective leadership, self-determined in approach to tasks, systematic and disciplined approach to activities
Must have good communications skills to work with other departments and management levels.
It requires good capacity to receive, understand, forward proper information to ensure the proper flow of communication and information.
