Context
Besides the fuel systems, the Auto Inergy Division is one of the main suppliers of depollution systems. Research programs as well as development programs specific to new vehicles move forward to answer as quickly as possible the new requests of the market, in the core business of the Division (Fuel systems and Depollution), but also in new energy solutions.- hydrogen storage and fuel cells
The Research Center of Plastic Omnium located in Brussels is fully dedicated to innovations in those three lines of products.
Mission
The internship is located in Brussels, Belgium, within the Plastic Omnium Advanced Innovation & Research Center dedicated to the Auto Inergy division. The innovation data analyst intern will support the Open Innovation team. During the length of the Internship, an entire project will be completed and new methodologies and tools developed will be adopted by the organization.
The innovation data analyst intern role within the Open Innovation department is to provide professional high quality inputs and deliverables for the technology watch project whose goal is to track, collect and redirect key and relevant data about new fuel energy storage and propulsion technologies (Electric vehicles. fuel cells, hydrogen storage, supercapacitors, batteries…). Then, data is used to identify latest technological developments, assess potential of new technologies and accelerate decisions for our innovation projects and strategy.
Objective of the internship
1) Make the data consultation interface more interactive (navigation, sharing functionalities, comments, search engine…). We use Nintex for workflow automation and templates generation.
2) Make the metadata ready for visualizations (Enhance automatic tagging with technical categories, organization names de-duplication…). We use Win Automation as macro recorder for robotic process automation.
3) Liaise with our business analyst, knowledge management engineer, and IT department in order to explore the possibilities in terms of visualisation and interactivity offered by Qlik softwares.
4) Write technical specifications in order to comply with internal needs (How to connect data visualisations to SharePoint database…).
5) Set up a proof of concept in collaboration with our IT department in order to validate the added value of the data visualization for our Techwatch process.
Tasks and deliverables of the internship
· Design and implementation of new workflow/templates/forms (SharePoint, Nintex)
· Design and Implementation of Qlik visualization apps
· Documentation of changes/new functionalities implemented
· Monthly reporting of actions taken
Background
Master in engineering in computer science with a focus on business intelligence, big data, data mining, database administration, data visualisation, data analysis, data warehousing, visual computing or visual analytics.
Know-how - prerequisites
· Familiar with designing algorithms, macros & workflows,
· formatting of web pages and intranet sites,
· writing technical documents,
· developing VBA macros,
· data visualization software’s like Qlik softwares (QlikView, Qlik Sense) or competitors (Tableau, Power BI).
· Programming (Javascripts and CSS)
· Fluent in English
· High level of initiative, good communication skills
