Your challenge

As a User Experience Researcher & Designer for Computational Pathology, your key challenge is to develop user research, understand human computer interaction requirements and translate into market winning products across the entire computational pathology portfolio. We truly believe Computational Pathology will unlock the full potential of digital pathology. The key is to identify and realize value propositions that deliver differential clinical value while embedded in the pathology workflow. This would be a unique opportunity to hone your leadership skills and help establish the key business of Computational Pathology within Philips.

Your responsibilities

Your responsibilities in a nutshell:

·  Analyse and document current workflows in the pathology lab. Translate deep workflow knowledge into clear design/ UI-UX specifications for the product development team in such a way that short, mid and long term business results can be achieved.
·  Planning, coordinating and executing user research through observations, (contextual) interviews, usability studies (formative and summative), etc., with the pathologists.
·  Concept design and effective documentation and communication of design for entire computational pathology portfolio (SketchFlow, Paper prototypes, hardware prototypes, wireframes, mock-ups, and requirements engineering).
·  Supporting the design, execution and analysis of (clinical & usability) validation studies.
·  Participate in all aspects of UX: research, ideation, strategy, interaction design, usability, and visual design.
·  Collaborate with global product management and engineering teams to help define product vision and bring this vision to life by scoping and delivering design inputs as well as working closely with agile development teams [part product owner].
·  Develop deep clinical knowledge including needs, clinical trends and patient pathways while building a global network of contacts in the Computational Pathology community to feed product vision, policy and innovation program.

The UX Experience Researcher/ Designer will directly report into the Lead of Product Management for Computational Pathology and collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary functions. We are looking for

To be successful as a UX Experience Researcher/ Designer you will have the following:

·  Bachelors in the following: Interaction Designer, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic/Visual Design, Industrial Design, or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Oncology/ pathology education or experience would be a plus
·  2-3 years of experience in user-centred design, user experience or human computer interaction for consumer products across multiple platforms (web, mobile, kiosk etc.,)
·  Experience in medical devices/ software markets relevant to healthcare IT is preferred
·  Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design tools
·  Portfolio demonstrating successful examples of conceptual designs, prototypes, and final design patterns used in commercialized products or academic projects
·  Knowledge and understanding of current authoring languages and standards, editing and authoring tools, and related website technologies. HTML, XHTML, CSS, Java Script, Flash knowledge is highly preferred
·  Passion to work in a start-up like environment
·  Experience in performing in complex environments and the ability to interact with customers and other stakeholders
·  Fluent in English, willing to travel (20-30%) and enjoying interactions with a variety of people with different background and personalities
