The software designer/architect will work within the IGT-S Innovation department in Best. In the group new technologies and features are developed to improve the efficiency and clinical outcome of interventional procedures. Innovations range from building advanced clinical software applications to the development of new x-ray sources and detectors to advanced image processing and video distribution solutions as well as new positioning concepts. Projects are usually multidisciplinary with both technical (SW/HW) people as well as Clinical Scientists and representatives from marketing. In the innovation department the focus is on evaluating new technologies and features first in-house and in 2nd phase in a clinical setting to reduce the technical and clinical risk. When technical and clinical feasibility is proven the project is transferred to the development organization.

Your responsibilities

Key Areas of Responsibility:

·  Build software to test new ideas in lab, preclinical or clinical setting in an early phase
·  Participation in innovation studies in his/her field of expertise to support programming decision making for new products by reducing clinical, technical and economic risks.
·  Investigation of new concepts and methods in his/her field of expertise in order to stay ahead of the competition.
·  Signal issues and discuss proposals with innovation program manager for corrective actions
·  Actively monitor results of clinical testing and relevant prototyping release process.
·  Monitor and report on technical trends in your field of expertise

Your team

You will be part of a small, highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team of innovation scientists in a larger team of 35 specialists with backgrounds in Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics.

We are looking for:

First of all, you are a strong leader, creative and analytical. In addition you are a team player and a coach. You have a ‘hands-on’ approach and good communication skills and are able to communicate well with all stakeholders (Marketing, Clinical Science, R&D, etc.).

·  Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science;
·  Excellent programming skills, as well as knowledge of C, C++, , OpenGL, DirectX, CUDA, OpenCL, web technologies, Visual Studio, etc.
·  We are looking for somebody who can develop fast and lean platform code, familiarity with medical standards like DICOM, and a variety of technical matters like OS programming, databases, network communication, etc., is considered a plus.
·  2 years of relevant experience
·  Knowledge of the medical domain is preferred;
·  Drive, entrepreneurial behavior and result oriented
·  Ability to influence without having the formal hierarchy
