DOWNSTREAM AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER (H/F)

Mission:
Preparation and achievement of downstream trials. Perform analysis linked to downstream activities to achieve R&D enzymes objectives.
Your function:
1. Development and validation of innovative processes or formulations (50 %)
- Coordination and/or achievement of trials in order to develop a new process or product
- Global downstream trials planification
- Based upon pilot scale trials, definition of tools to be implemented at productions scale (implementation itself being out of the scope)
2. Upscaling of lab and pilot scale processes (30 %)
- Validation of innovative processes
- Calculation of the operationnal competitive advantage
- New procedures implementation
- Active participation and follow up industrial implementations
3. Building of a ‘Technological intelligence’ (10 %)
- Technological watch
- To promote and maintain a collaboration networking
4. Contribution to the common tasks of the department (10%)
- Participation to the common tasks of laboratory : tableware, storage and cleanliness, inventory management, receiving orders.

Profil:
Junior engineer in Biotechnology
Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas would be preferred : Bioprocess, biotechnology, biochemistry, downstream processing
Good knowledge on fermentation, purification, extraction and microbiology
Ability to follow research protocols with attention to detail
A strong organizational and record keeping skills
Result driven
Good level in written and spoken English
Ready to live in Belgium
