about the role
Responsible for:
Planning, design, optimization and evolution of OBS networks (not limited to IGN, CGN, AGN, Voice) in a given region (EUR) and gateways between OBS and its partners.
Specification of different network projects coming from NIA Cluster or from Central entity, in a way they could be easily implemented and in a time by the Network Service Implementation team.
Capacity management of backbone network resources: hardware platforms, bandwidth, collocation space, and service platforms; thus to insure that our networks are optimized and always provide good Quality of Service at the lowest costs.
Identifying and triggering the necessary projects concerning the optimization of the network topology for routing / quality of services optimization in his/her region.
Validation of new carrier services delegated to the region. Cooperate with central teams for validation of services not delegated to the region; also establish a strong relationship with technical teams of our key telco partners.
Pre-sales Validation - review non-standard pre-sales bids and determine whether network capacity is sufficient or upgrades are required. Engage central teams as required and manage capacity of PoPs related to pre-sales validation without impact on QoS.
High quality documentation following high standards, to properly document planned changes and existing network topologies.
Maintaining excellent collaborative working environment across the departments in OBS
Providing Technical Consultancy & Support within scope of your job to other departments.
Correcting design mistakes/issues resulting in performance degradation.
Follow the processes, methods and tools defined in the NSP team to maintain consistency of network design across the others regions. Support others team members and contribute to the development of key technical expertise and skills in the NSP team.
Regular reporting or progress reports on activities.
about you
Master’s Degree in Telecommunications or Computer Science is a plus.
3+ years of experience in telco industry
MS Outlook – advanced
MS Excel – advanced
MS Visio – beginner to advanced
MS Powerpoint – beginner to advanced
Knowledge base equivalent to CCNA/JNCIA certifications is required at minimum.
Knowledge base equivalent to CCNP/CCIP/JNCIP certification is preferred.
SDN certification in Openstack or other SDN certification path is preferred.
Other expertise in technologies such as: Metro Ethernet, SDH, TDM, dial, voice, DSL access is a plus.
Basic software development skills and knowledge of a programing language (VBA, Python, C++, C#) is a plus.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken is a must. French or another language is a plus

base salary from 1,380 € brutto per month, actual salary is likely to be higher based on skills, knowledge and experience.
