Job description

Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically four years of software engineering or related experience needed.

As a UX Prototyper, you will work with our design team to create prototypes of how our customers interact with our offering. You possess the ability to understand the needs of the customer and bring concepts to life with delightful interaction and motion. You will be able to use your design know-how to help the team communicate more fluidly and rapidly.

The ideal candidate will be able to build quick prototypes while balancing fidelity and speed. You will be an advocate of exceptional design and also have an awareness of technical constraints. You will stay updated on trends in UI and interactive design and will regularly share inspiration with the rest of the design team.

The user experience design team works in close coordination with product management and engineers to produce wireframes, sketches and high-fidelity mockups. You will be a champion for UX design at Bronto as you collaborate with other stakeholders in the organization.

Responsibilities:

·  Create engaging prototypes using prototyping tools and code for evaluation, user testing and critique.
·  Act as a bridge between engineering and the UX team and assist front-end engineers to ensure that the final product aligns with the intended design
·  Collaborate with UX team members on defining and maintaining design standards and a shared vision for consistency across the platform.
·  Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to better understand business and customer goals, as well as technical requirements.




Preferred Requirements

·  5+ years of UX experience.
·  Digital portfolio demonstrating breadth and depth in UX/visual design, conceptual thinking, and creative problem solving across platforms.
·  3+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
·  Proficiency with prototyping tools and methods.
·  Experience collaborating with engineers, designers, and product managers throughout the implementation cycle in a SAAS environment.
·  Fluency in best practices for interaction design and user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques.

Additional

·  Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects.
·  Passion for delighting customers with a beautiful and usable experience
·  Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
·  Knowledge of creating and maintaining user-interface specifications, guidelines, and pattern libraries.
·  Able to create prototypes to effectively communicate detailed interaction behaviors.
·  Ability to work out of our Durham, NC office.
