Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a Database Engineer with our team,

you will be a key contributor in designing and implementing major pieces of the Responsys core database infrastructure.

You will design major core data services such as replication, data high availability, disaster recovery, Implement database techniques and features to support service scalability, performance and stability.

You will work closely with Quality Engineering and Technical Operations to test and deploy infrastructural enhancements.

Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovation that improves system availability, resiliency, and performance.

To be successful in this role you will need a background in the following:

-BS or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree.

-Experience in software development with a strong understanding of data modeling and schema design

- Development experience with PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle, or other database technologies

- Oracle SQL, PL/SQL Performance tuning.

- MySQL

- Ability to learn quickly and deliver high quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment

-Experience building a high-performance large-scale database platform Prior experience in Java/J2EE.

-Prior experience in Ant, Maven build and deploy tools Prior experience with MySQL database

-Experience with Shell/Perl/Python scripting in Unix or Linux environment.

-Experience with agile software development Experience in Big data technologies is plus

Desired Skills:

Experience building a high-performance large-scale database platform

Experience in Oracle performance tuning, SQL, PL/SQL development

Prior experience with MySQL database.

Prior experience in Java/J2EE.

Prior experience in Ant, Maven build and deploy tools
