Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Software Developer 4:
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for hands-on engineers with a passion to solve interesting problems in distributed systems and high availability. As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will own the software design, development and deployment of various critical components of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

You should be a hands-on coder with ability to dig deeper into any part of the stack. In depth understanding of the fundamentals of distributed systems. You also be able to apply those fundamentals to real-world problems and come up with specialized solutions. In your work you will interact and co-operate with people working in different areas of the stack.

1. 5+ years of experience in delivering and managing highly scalable and highly available distributed systems.
2. Strong knowledge of low level systems. Should understand the fundamentals of what is going on within a machine at all levels.
3. Strong knowledge of C. Additional knowledge of C++ or Java is preferred.
4. Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms.
5. Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
