Principal Engineer

Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

· Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications

· Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product

· Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility

· Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards

· Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team

· Have high and strict quality standards to ensure consistency with initial design

· Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers worldwide

· Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.

· Approve final product before launchRequirements

Requirements

· Proven experience as software architect

· Experience in software development and coding in Object Oriented languages (C#, Java etc.)

· Experience building Cloud Applications

· Experience working with Microservices

· Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture

· Excellent knowledge of UML and other modeling methods

· Experience delivering features with continuous integration

· Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design

· Knowledge of mobile development using native or hybrid languages

· Understanding of software quality assurance principles

· A technical mindset with great attention to detail

· High quality organizational and leadership skills

· Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

· MSc/MA in computer science, engineering or relevant field
