Job description

Ensures that revenue is recognized in accordance with Corporate and SEC standards. Provides direction to sales organization prior to contracts being concluded.

As a member of Revenue Accounting you will assist in the processing of revenue impacting adjustments and reconciling balance sheet account. Monitor revenue, reconcile receivables, and unearned accounts. Work with internal customers to resolve related revenue inquiries. Assist in facilitating the automation of current processes and procedures. You may participate in special projects.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills in partnering with other internal groups and management. Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets is essential. Familiarity with Oracle Financials is essential. 2 years accounting experience and BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent. Some positions need you to be bilingual in English and Spanish or Portuguese.

Qualifications :

The Revenue Recognition team ensures the consistent application of Oracle's Corporate Revenue Recognition Policies and compliance with US GAAP. The Analyst will evaluate, convey feedback and provide guidance prior to contracts being executed as well as assessing contractual documentation during the post-execution phase for all Lines of Business in order to support the organization and mitigate the risk of revenue inaccuracy. The Revenue Recognition Analyst reports t the Global Deal Review Team Manager in the San Antonio office.

Responsibilities
Perform daily Rev Rec assessments pertaining to the global revenue recognition policy
Initiate revenue adjustments according to global practices and policy
Engage in the objective analysis of contractual documentation during the draft stage when required for revenue risk and non-standard terms and structure
Work with various internal customers (Deal Management, Sales, A/R, Credit and Collections, etc.) to help resolve revenue recognition inquires/issues
Assist in facilitating the automation and improvement of current processes and procedures
Participate in special projects as assigned

Job Requirements
BS in Accounting or Finance with 2 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education an experience
Strong analytical, documentation, and critical thinking skills are essential
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GL systems preferred (Oracle Financials is a plus)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to take responsibility and make decisions to support worldwide approach
Self-motivated, time management and prioritization skills
Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
Ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues
Language skills outside of English is a plus (Spanish/Portuguese)
