Cloud Test Engineer

Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.

Summary:

Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit is building new team within Operations specifically tasked with addressing the issue of downtime / operational failures caused by insufficient testing environment. We are looking for an Engineer or Software Developer experienced in continuous integration and automation. If you are able to bring us new ideas in the areas of testing large-scale projects, we need you.




What will you do every day?

·  be a key member of the team that owns design, development, implementation, and sustaining engineering of the building blocks for all of our testing environments in Operations.
·  shape the future of implementing changes in Production environment
·  analyze our large scale environment and modularize operational code and process such that it is testable and repeatable in pre-production environments
·  Create tools that will help the development and maintenance teams to properly and thoroughly test their changes
·  utilize virtual appliances in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and also work with our own bare metal hw
·  work on infrastructure automation, design and implement a Continuous Integration ecosystem
·  design simple solutions for complex problems, don't hesitate to design solutions on your own

Required skills:

·  proficiency in a higher-level programming language
·  self-starter, self-driven, self management of multiple concurrent assignments
·  flexibility, adaptability, and a built-in desire to learn more and do more, strong attention to detail
·  strong affinity for DevOps methodologies and tools
·  Understanding of the management and consumption of Cloud Services Architectures: OCI, AWS, Azure, Google, etc
·  Comfort with Linux as the primary development environment
·  decent verbal and written English
