Job description

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Create new architecture for a moderate size product or a portion of a major product. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

Student Information Systems, a critical functional area to complete in our SaaS footprint for Higher Ed, is one top investment priority for Oracle. With over 800+ institutions using Campus Solutions today, our charter is to strike the balance of accelerating the delivery of Student Cloud while continue to deliver value for existing Campus Solutions customers. Student Cloud has various modules like Recruiting, Admissions, Enrollment, Records, Student Finance, Financial Aid etc. that help institutions streamline routine processes for students, deliver real time information for better decision-making, drive operational efficiency and help students in showcasing their education and abilities to prospective recruiters.

Responsibilities include:
• Working closely with a world class development team
• Architecting and developing the next generation Student Information Solution on-time with high quality
• Interacting closely with the Product Owners to understand use cases/requirement, and hands-on bootstrapping, prototyping and guiding developers in day-to-day design and coding tasks
• Design and implementation of projects
• Working closely with Leadership team, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Quality Assurance, and other dependent development teams (ERP, HCM, CX)


The ideal candidate has the following profile:
• Excellent analysis, problem solving and prioritization skills
• Must be a self-starter, able to deliver projects on time with high quality
• Aggressive, can work under pressure, multi-task and able to find solutions, provide recommendations on solution approach
• Excellent product development skills – designing, coding, and debugging skills in Java, J2EE
• Experience of database design/modelling, knowledge of RDBMS concepts is required
• Experience of 12-15 yrs. in product development is required
• You work independently and solve problems and are willing to do what it takes to get things done.
• You have the ability to build relationships and influence outside of authority while leveraging Oracle expertise and resources.
• Effective communication skills (written and spoken) and strong problem solving skills
• Experience with Fusion Techstack (JDeveloper, ADF, Cloud, REST Services) strongly preferred
• Experience with technologies like REST services, Java, PL/SQL, Oracle Database a must
• Experience developing web UI's using Java Script Libraries and/or frameworks e.g. JQuery, Angular strongly preferred.

Desirable qualifications for this position are (one or more)
• Knowledge of Oracle ADF, Oracle JET , Oracle Application Composer, Oracle Sales Cloud Vertical development tools a plus
• Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Applications Seeded Customization Framework, OATs. PSR Tools, Accessibility Testing Tools preferred
• Experiences in scripting languages
• Experiences with cloud platforms, cloud technologies/deployments
• Experience in continuous delivery, deployment and monitoring of cloud based services
