Job Purpose

Responsibility for the execution of business plans to meet business goals for an assigned territory. To drive territory product performance and market share, to develop effective professional business relationships with customers, in accordance with the Novartis Customer Solution Model.

Major Accountabilities

• To execute business plans and to achieve product targets within the assigned territory, with customers and the therapeutic area.
• To develop and apply understanding of customer organizations and networks as well as of the variables that affect customer decisions (e.g. peer-to-peer relationships).
• To execute call plans for customers; to ensure that calls are targeted to the right person to deliver the right message with the right frequency, in accordance with the NCSM.
• To adapt and optimize the approach and communication style during calls and to respond appropriately to customer needs according to in accordance with the NCSM.
• To make effective use of available technologies and channels to support sales calls.
• To ensure that Novartis products and support services are broadly understood and available to ever more patients and customers.
• To deploy and use approved Marketing and Sales promotional materials and programs and to run direct promotion programs.
• To use expert knowledge of Novartis products and of the range of therapies to build close professional customer relationships and to support sound clinical discussions.
• To use detailed knowledge of competitors’ products and their relative strengths and weaknesses during customer calls.
• To allocate resources effectively for sampling, programs and events, etc.
• To work effectively with other Novartis stakeholders and across other functions to achieve product targets.
• To provide Novartis stakeholders and other colleagues with insights and feedback gained from discussions.
• To ensure compliance in all interaction throughout the organization and to maintain regular liaison with the Regional and Local compliance functions to see that all processes and activities are compliant with internal and external policies (NP4, EFPIA, deontological code, global guidelines).

• Revenues and market share targets for assigned territory
• Knowledge of the territory
• Pro-active approach in dealing with colleagues and in analyzing and solving problems
• Accurate management of key lists and reporting
• Customer & Patient centricity: contribution to the implementation of educational projects to improve patients care at local/national level; interaction and communication with Opinion Leaders by means of new technologies
• Efficient and collaborative approach with all the relevant functions both within the territory and at Head Office
• Full compliance to Novartis Promotion Practices (NP4), country legislation, Pharmaceutical Industry Code of conduct, national and regional laws & all internal regulations and processes
• Full accountability for brand in the assigned area

Minimum requirements

Ideal Background (State the preferred education and experience level)

Education: University Degree in Science

Experience: 2 + years of experience in the Onco/Hematology sector

Languages: Dutch – fluent; English – intermediate
