Job description
As Retail Inventory Accounting Team Lead for our fast growing Retail Business, you will be responsible for leading a team of 2, executing various accounting functions for this fast-growing business and for recommending and implementing process improvement opportunities. The role reports into the Retail Accounting Manager.
· Champion US GAAP analysis of key inventory accounting topics and be able to provide clear written and verbal communication of accounting analysis and conclusions
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to drive better process solutions that impact DTC inventory accounting
· Lead Europe DTC Inventory Accounting team monthly close process
· Ensure execution of accounting processes, journal entries, review and approvals are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
· Prepare monthly reconciliations and reporting analysis of inventory DTC inventory balances throughout Europe
· Prepare, analyze and post monthly/quarterly Reserves and Journal Entries.
· Support and drive best practice for Physical Inventory Counts and analyze results for Finance Leadership Team and Business Partners.
· Become the subject matter expert in key areas impacting our inventory flow such as Inventory Adjustments, Obsolescence and Return To Vendor Products.
· Supervise and train team of 2 FTE
· Support Business Partners such as Store Operations and GMM team to develop and implement inventory management best practice
· Participate in and/or support systems integrated testing
· Being part of the larger NIKE Controlling Organization and embrace best practices.
Desired profile
· Big 4 Public accounting or Fortune 500/Multinational consumer products company is strongly preferred
· 2-3 years' experience in accounting, finance or related functions
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
· High standards for quality and attention to detail
· Experience with SAP a bonus
· MS Office and advanced Excel skills
· Strong enthusiasm and passion for the NIKE brand
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Advanced ability to handle multiple and competing priorities and requests
· Strong ability to seek information, problem solve, communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is preferred
