You’ll need that appetite as a Lead Engineer (Front-End focused) on the Digital Ad Ratings team at Nielsen because we work in an extremely dynamic and fast-paced industry. We measure tens of thousands of advertising campaigns with billions of ads served to consumers on phones, tablets, computers, and internet streaming devices every day. The data sets that we deal with are stunning in their size, and pose enormous challenges in collecting, handling, processing and reporting so much information. We provide our clients an interactive reporting application and API, leveraging in-memory data grid technology and a flexible data extraction platform. We have an immediate opening for a talentedLead Level UI Engineer to join our Applications team and help scale our rapidly growing systems and team.

What kind of lead engineer are we looking for?

·  7-10 years of working experience in UI development on any of the major JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Sencha ExtJS, ReactJS etc.)
·  2-5 years exepreineNode JS and HTML/CSS experience preferred
·  Full Stack experience in Java, Spring and SQL would be a big plus
·  Experience acting as the technical lead for a team of more junior front-end software engineers.
·  Familiarity with modern DevOps software development practices like Git, Code reviews, agile methodology, experience with CI/CD pipelines is a big plus
·  Experience working in and a fundamental understanding of the Amazon Web Services
·  BS in Computer Science, Math, or equivalent
·  A ridiculous attention to detail and pride in the work you do

More About What You Will Be Doing!

We’re expecting you to be able to hit the ground running on your very first day. This means not only having the technical skills to code, but knowing how to help lead and mentor more junrior members of the front-end engineering team. It should go without saying that you know how to use source control in your sleep, be able to setup and administer your own dev machine, have worked with IntelliJ or other comparable IDE’s, work with defect tracking systems, write proper code documentation, etc.
