The Data Center of Excellence for Nielsen’s Engineering group is currently in need of a Data Solutions Developer to work out of our Oldsmar, FL GTIC campus.The Data Center of Excellence covers all aspects of data analysis for Engineering including television, digital and audio measurement of media consumption. The team's responsibilities include detailed coding for data extraction and analysis, visualization, statistical testing, correlation and machine learning algorithm development.

The Data Solution Developer will work to complete complex data analyses to support the measurement of Global Engineering processes and products. This person will collaborate with Engineering business leaders, Client Service Executives/Managers and Data Science to define these analyses. Additionally, they will support data analysis requests from the Engineering Research & Development teams when prioritized.

Job Responsibilities

• Defines and leads all analyses to support Innovation initiatives, KPI development/implementation, standards and best practices.

• Defines and conducts analyses to support Engineering product and process measurement across Digital, Television and Audio.

• Manages multiple projects simultaneously

•Leads prototyping (what –ifs) as well as supporting pilot programs for R&D purposes. The primary areas include, but are not limited to, trend analyses, statistical analyses, algorithm development and machine learning.

•Interacts with multiple data sources and gains proficiency in sandbox development to support complex data Insights.

•Ensures documentation of the new methodologies and best practices around algorithms and machine learning solutions. Supports R&D team white paper development where needed.

•Works with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test new measurement data solutions.

•Designs and tests data collection methodologies to support data analyses.

•Defines and leads the identification and implementation of methods and best practices to optimize cycle time and quality in completing data analyses.

•Directly interacts with internal or external clients where needed to clearly understand needs and provide solutions for their consideration when appropriat

•Represents the Engineering COE in meetings and interactions with other Nielsen departments as required.

• Represents Nielsen within academic and research councils where approved.

Role Requirements

•Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science or Physics required.

• Experience in trend analyses, multivariate statistics (parametric/ non-parametric), forecasting, smoothing.

•Proficient in R or Python statistical packages especially PySpark and NumPy

• Working knowledge in AWS or other cloud platforms

• Knowledge in SQL, working with Algorithms, and large-scale databases.

• Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret large data sources

•Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire)

•Experience in big data technologies and machine learning

•Experience in high-level programming language in Hadoop environments(e.g. Spark)
