The Sr. Business Analyst's primary responsibilities in the Radio, Sampling department are to drive improvements in quality, efficiency, budgetary forecasting, initiative prioritization and departmental reporting. These responsibilities will support the department's primary objective of continuously improving the demographic and geographic representation of Nielsen's Radio Diary surveys and PPM panel.

The Sr. Business Analyst will work independently and as part of a team to perform many routine tasks, as well as support the various ad hoc requests that occur. These tasks include but are not limited to: maintaining departmental budgetary models, overseeing the execution of the Quality Plan and Sampling Roadmap, responding to client inquiries, supporting company initiatives and survey methodology enhancements, generating and presenting insights from routine data analysis, and supporting internal and external ad-hoc requests.

Job Responsibilities:

Works as an integral member of the Radio Sampling team in a time-critical production environment.

· 
Prepares and maintains fiscal budget models as well as prepares forecasting models for future service initiatives

· 
Manages the Sampling Quality Plan which comprises all activities aimed at improving the execution quality of the department. Managing the quality plan involves the following activities:

· 
Business Process Management (BPM): Maintains the department's deliverables that detail the primary responsibilities of the department and captures the inputs and outputs of each process outlined in the ‘SIPOC'.

· 
Incident Management: Captures all details and reports out on the status of all the department's incidents. Identifies opportunities to reduce incidents through the analysis of past incidents.

· 
Risk analysis: Utilizes tools like Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to catalog the department's risk profile and prioritize initiatives to reduce the department's risk exposure.

· 
Process documentation and checklist audits: Conduct routine process audits to ensure all department documentation and checklists meet the necessary standards.

· 
Sampling Detection Script Program: Oversee the repository of detection scripts that mitigate defects and prioritize further detection script development. Report on status pertaining to development, implementation, defect identification and overall progress of the program.

· 
Lean-Six Sigma initiatives: Champion efforts to implement process improvement by identifying opportunities and leading efforts to increase efficiency, reduce process waste, and minimize variation in process execution.

· 
Manages the Sampling Roadmap which outlines the major initiatives that will improve the department's capabilities. Managing the roadmap involves the following activities:

· 
Maintains the list of active initiatives and works to keep all projects within scope and on schedule.

· 
Maintains the list of queued initiatives and works with the team to prioritize the next set of initiatives utilizing tools like Quality Function Deployment (QFD).

· 
Develops and maintains initiative charters that outline the scope, objectives and timeline of each initiative.

· 
Quantifies impacts of initiative results as they relate to the overall Sampling departmental objectives.

· 
Routinely reports on status of initiatives and their outcomes.

· 
Manages client inquiries on sample performance by working with the team to gather forecasts, provide status on open inquiries, and track the history of inquiries to drive future improvement.

· 
Develops and maintains reports related to service level performance.

· 
Works closely with internal customers and IT personnel to improve current processes and engineer new methods. This includes support with writing new software, testing and end-user requirements.

· 
Conducts tactical and strategic analyses to address business and customer opportunities.

· 
Utilizes tools such as Sheets, Slides, Python and Tableau to perform analysis and present findings.

Role Requirements E=essential, P=preferred.

· 
E- Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science or data science

· 
E - 3+ years' experience in at least one of the following fields: data science, business administration, operations, consulting, logistics/supply chain, operations management or operations research

· 
E- Strong verbal, presentation, and written skills

· 
E- Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

· 
E- Strong project management, planning and organizational skills

· 
E- Experience implementing quality assurance/control solutions

· 
E- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, R, .NET, VBA, JAVA etc.)

· 
E- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean and/or Six Sigma

· 
E- Proficiency in Google Office Apps (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Gmail) or Microsoft Office

· 
E- Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization software and techniques

· 
P- Knowledge of statistical tests and procedures such as ANOVA, Chi-squared, Correlation, Regression, Student t-test, and Time Series

· 
P- Knowledge of survey sampling methodologies and data collection techniques

· 
P- Basic understanding of machine learning and data modeling techniques such as Decision Trees, Random Forests, SVM, Neural Networks, Incremental Response Modeling, and Credit Scoring

· 
P- Demonstrated success and effectiveness working in a time-critical production environment

· 
P- Familiarity with SQL, Oracle or other relational database software including manipulation of large data sets
