The factory in Charleroi produces medium and high-voltage cables (6 to 500 kV) with synthetic insulation (XLPE) that are shipped worldwide. Charleroi has its own testing laboratory and a certified High Voltage Installation Team. This site also offers services like engineering studies or maintenance.
Beginning of 2019, a transformation program was launched to increase the plant profitability. The diagnostic phase of this program showed a high potential for improvement in the costing of our products to gain competitive advantage.
Your missions :

- Help build and monitor plant shop-floor continuous improvement plan

- Lead actions for the on-going transformation program, for instance:
Improve reliability of costing parameters between shop floor, methods and engineering:
- Set-up/Enhance the appropriate metrics of production performance on shop-floor: OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency), scrap rate, conductor weight, insulation layer thickness, etc.
- Through data-mining and statistical analysis, make use of the appropriate metrics to ensure that costing standards are met
- Analyze gaps between in-field production parameters, methods parameters and engineering parameters used in costing
- Monitor the continuous improvement action plan
Formalize costing process flow chart:
- Through interviews with operations managers and consultants, draw “as-is” costing process and identify areas of improvement
- Benchmark Land High Voltage costing process with counterpart business Subsea High Voltage
- Build a “to-be” costing process and get plant management buy-in
- Formalize the process in dedicated process tool “Signavio” (a training to the tool will be provided in Paris)
- A specific focus shall be brought to project risk assessment and integration in costing
Your profile:
- Willingness to work in an industrial environment
- Basic knowledge of production management
- Strong data processing and analytical skills
- Willingness to take responsibilities and make proposals
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to obtain cooperation in this transversal role
- Strong user skills for Microsoft office (especially Excel for Database Handling)
- Top-class engineering school or university
- Languages: French and English
