Nestlé Purina Research and Development Center, Amiens, France, 6 months Trainee

The trainee will bring his/her support for developing a statistical expertise and develop a statistical mindset for the R&D Network.

The core of the internship will consist in developing and deploying (i.e. training sessions) a web-based tool to handle the analysis of palatability tests. This task includes a comparison of several statistical techniques described in literature for the analysis of such data. In parallel, the selected candidate will get familiarized with the work of a statistician in the R&D structure of a multinational food company by contributing to various projects aiming at relating production settings, product features and palatability data in order to help accelerating product development.

Key responsibilities
· Develop a web-based tool for palatability data analysis
· Write tool documentation and train future tool users
· Provide statistical support to R&D projects (design, analysis and reporting phases)
· Collaborate with relevant functions to ensure that all conditions are met for a broad use of statistics in R&D

Education and experience

· In process of getting a MSc in Statistics or Mathematics
· Good knowledge of experimental design and statistical modelling
· Programming skills in R
· Interest in web development is a plus
· Ideally first experience as intern or apprentice
· Fluent in English and French
· Collaborative, service-oriented
· Ability to work on several projects in parallel
· Flexibility and excellent organizational skills
