POSITION SUMMARY

As part of the newly created Nespresso Supply Chain Service Center in Lisbon, we are looking for a full time Data Scientist . This professional will have as main mission to improve the accuracy and reliability of the consolidated Demand Plans by taking full advantage of state-of-the-art statistical tools. This most realistic demand signal will be shared with Nespresso markets worldwide and feed the Monthly Business Planning (MBP) process at market and headquarters' levels. Ultimately, the consensus demand plan aims at delivering a flawless service to our customers while optimizing Operations.

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

· Ensure commitment from all internal functions, build and maintain good collaboration both within Supply Chain and with Headquarters' Commercial, Marketing and Finance, in line with the Nestlé Monthly Business Planning (MBP) best practices;
· Ensure successful product launches and phase-outs;
· Through a statistical solution (SAS), develop forecasting models to establish a 18 month rolling demand plan. These models must capture historical data and the latest inputs from Marketing and Sales, consumer and competitor information, external/internal trends and any relevant CRM data;
· Submit forecasts to Nespresso markets who use them as part of their MBP meetings;
· Share and publish the consolidated forecasts through systematic reporting, ad-hoc reports and communication, ensuring that Demand Plan information is available to all internal stakeholders;
· Challenge markets from a forecast accuracy point of view and ensure that corrective actions are implemented so as to minimize business impact;
· Adopt a continuous improvement mindset towards existing DSP processes with the aim of consistently improving Demand Plan Accuracy and delivering tangible benefits, e.g. increased efficiency and time savings;

ARE YOU A FIT?

· University degree in Mathematics, preferably in Statistics;
· At least 3 years of experience in one of the following areas: Data Science, Demand and Supply Planning, Finance, Supply Chain Development;
· Proven expertise with a demand statistical tool, e.g. SAS, SAP/APO, SPSS;
· Has been involved in collaborative business development projects with the Trade;
· Knowledge in product portfolio management (seasonality, lifecycle status, shelf-life);
· Strong analytical, communication and influencing skills;
· Autonomous and independent;
· Fluent in English.
