Expeditor Clerk

Department: CA Distribution

Location: Whittier, CA

The Expeditor Clerk reports to the Shipping Supervisor.  This member of the Distribution Center team is responsible for ensuring that all shipping documents are completed accurately and in a timely fashion. This individual must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively support their team. 

Responsibilities :

·  Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment
·  Record shipment data, including weight, charges and space availability
·  Receive and unpack materials and supplies
·  Manage shipping schedule of outbound shipments for vendors
·  Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes
·  Complete shipping and receiving reports
·  Account for sealed trailers upon arrival and departure
·  Use a warehouse management system to prepare accurate bills of lading for outbound freight
·  Communicate with truck drivers as required and ensure that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork
·  Analyze past shipments with missing freight and have the ability to retrace carton movement via WM to locate carton and prepare to reship.
·  Create exception freight reports that other departments will use to successfully complete orders

·  Must have excellent communication & interpersonal skills
·  Must be able to clearly and concisely communicate with employees of the organization
·  Must be organized and able to multi-task

Job Requirements:

·  Minimum of 1 year of experience including warehouse and use of RF scanners
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills to all level of Management
·  Ability to identify and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
·  Must have Microsoft Word and Excel experience, pivot tables a plus
·  High school diploma or equivalent
·  Ability to read, speak and write in English

·  Able to lift up to 30 pounds – Proper lifting techniques required
·  Able to perform manual work, i.e., bending, reaching, standing, walking, and stooping for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) without taking a break
·  Able to sit for extended periods throughout the day
·  Occasional reaching above or below shoulder height
·  Occasional grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation and repetitive hand movements
·  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
