Associate Technical Designer

New York, NY

Who You Are:

As the Associate Technical Designer, you will partner in the development and maintenance of seasonal items for Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo footwear. You will provide visual communication and tools to cross functional partners and factories to reflect product direction and design intent. You will also coordinator all prototype needs leading up to market presentation and provide administrative support for Jimmy Choo Footwear and Michael Kors Men’s Footwear.

What You’ll Do:

·  Understand Design aesthetic and translate it into appropriate product presentations.
·  Interpret Design direction for presentation (CADS, Line Art, Graphics, etc.)
·  Partner with Design Director to create CAD designs and artwork - print placements, stud lay outs, hardware designs etc.
·  CADing and spec’ing in collaboration with Design team
·  Research and organization of Design materials
·  Trend research
·  Take fit notes and communicate with overseas Factories
·  Create tech drawings and outsole specs
·  Build Design calendar based off Production schedule
·  Input and coordinate meetings for Designer on shared calendar
·  Sample and Material Management – shipping, tracking, prep documentation
·  Book fit models

You’ll Need to Have:

·  1+ years Design experience
·  Functional Illustrator and Photoshop skills as well as Microsoft Office
·  Ability to follow direction and execute with accuracy and attention to detail
·  Ability to think critically and communicate when alignment is needed
·  Strong organization skills and ability to manage Design Calendar
·  Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
·  Ability to be proactive with excellent time management skills
·  Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
·  Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate CADs, material placements and PLM records
