Senior Quality Associate Scientist

Your role:

 

The Senior Quality Associate Scientist will install, set up, calibrate, tune and troubleshoot new and existing laboratory instrumentation and specialized equipment from Agilent, Waters, Thermo Scientific and others. This roll will also perform minor repairs on existing equipment and train the technicians on proper operation to avoid breaking the equipment in the future.

 

• Perform troubleshooting activities and repair instruments and equipment to service specifications.

• Maintain program for preventative maintenance (PM) and calibration of laboratory equipment.

• Complete and submit accurate and detailed service records. Track all service activities and ensure documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.

• Perform all service activities in compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory bodies (OSHA, ISO, FDA).

• Maintain and continuously develop personal knowledge and expertise related to the service of laboratory equipment.

• Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.

• Ability to work both as a team member and independently.

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.

• Occasional work around hazardous materials.

• Repetitive movement of hands and fingers while working with computers or instruments.

• Continuous eye/hand coordination, close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Physical Attributes:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for approximately 10% of a typical working day. Ability to work seated for approximately 25% of a typical working day and work standing for approximately 75% of a typical working day.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Technology, Engineering or related Life Science field 

OR

High School degree or GED equivalent and 2+ years of maintenance, repair, calibration of equipment or Quality experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cGMP environment.​​​​​​​

• Experience with Dionex Chromeleon software and Database management experience with strong documentation skills

• Demonstrated mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude, attention to detail

• Experience performing or managing the performance of on-site calibrations and preventive maintenance activities of laboratory or support equipment.

• Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
