Metrology/Calibration Technician

Your Role:

 

Calibrate equipment and instruments used in cGMP manufacturing and maintain the metrology program. Troubleshoot and repair simple malfunctions.  The technician must be self-motivated and rarely requires guidance from other personnel in the measurements they are proficient.  Collateral duties and tasks may be assigned as a permanent part of the position description depending on individual’s abilities.  Coordinate calibration activities with laboratory and Production departments.  Instruments calibrated include those measuring temperature, pressure, rotational speed, mass, flow, TOC, conductivity, and humidity. Document calibration in accordance to cGMP procedures.  Calibration data to be entered into the appropriate software program for electronic tracking of instrument calibration.  Conduct or coordinate monthly balance/scale verifications for the facility.  Coordinate third party calibration requirements and contractor visits for Milliporesigma. Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for calibration. Initiate or support equipment non-conformance investigations and reports for equipment found out of tolerance. Support metrology related CAPA and change control activities.  Maintain calibration reference materials, standards, and equipment. Support troubleshooting activities on low voltage electrical equipment, as appropriate.  Support new equipment/instrument identification via vendor contacts.  Support or lead installation and start-up of new instruments or technology that provides process improvement to the metrology program.  Act as subject matter expert for various systems utilized throughout the facility.

 

Who You Are:

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

·  Associates degree in electronics or life sciences or applicable qualified industry/military training and experience.
·  1-2 years metrology and electrical experience, with a preference for previous GMP documentation and/or calibration experience.
·  Knowledge in electrical and schematic reading.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

·  SAP enterprise software. 
·  Microsoft Access databases. 
·  Building Management System (Honeywell or Automated Logics) software.
·  Strong organizational skills.

 

Additional Local Needs:

 

Ability to type at a computer keyboard and have the ability to read computer monitors. Use of respiratory protection and other PPE may be required in the execution of duties and responsibilities.  Be able to lift 10 kg repeatedly.  Motor vehicle license and travel between sites.
