Analytics Engineer

As a leading science and technology company, one of our primary focus areas is harnessing the power of our data and analytics to best serve our customers and their needs.  ACE, Analytics Center of Excellence within MilliporeSigma is driving our data analytics strategy and execution. The key focus areas for this team will be overseeing the structural integrity of Life Science Data Lake, establishing a data analytics strategy and driving data literacy across Life Science.  The Analytics CoE collaborates with several teams within Life Science (LS) and across the MilliporeSigma organization globally to drive our analytics strategic priorities.

 

In this role, you will be part of a growing, global team of analytics engineers, who collaborate in DevOps mode, in order to enable MilliporeSigma (Life Science) business with state-of-the-art technology to leverage data as an asset and to take better informed decisions.

 

The ACE Team is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting automated data analysis, models and algorithms on Life Science’s data management and analytics platform.

 

This position will work across multiple use cases utilizing an agile project methodology.

 

Who You Are: 

·  Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Physical Sciences or related
·  2+ years of experience in data analysis with experience in advanced analytics, machine learning, natural language processing, information extraction and information retrieval
·  Develop high quality data analysis, analytical models and algorithms supporting our data analytics use cases and solving critical business problems
·  Performing regression, classification, natural language processing, named-entity recognition (among many others)
·  Participate in end to end project lifecycle, from requirements analysis to go-live and operations of an application
·  Interact with key business stakeholders to bring to life use cases and solutions to expedite value add for the organization
·  Document technical work in a professional and transparent way. Create high quality technical documentation
·  Deploy applications on Data Lake with clearly defined checks
·  Implementation of changes and bug fixes via MilliporeSigma’s change management framework
·  DevOps project setup following Agile principles (e.g. Scrum)
·  Understanding of web frontend layout aesthetics
·  Strong customer orientation and communication skills
·  Exceptional interpersonal skills with technical & non-technical audience
·  Strong ability to negotiate mutually acceptable solutions, building on consensus through give and take, while keeping in mind the sense of urgency to deliver business value
·  Ability to structure and plan complex topics into manageable work items
·  Ability to prioritize thoughtfully and strictly in alignment with business objectives as well as financial and resource restrictions
·  Ability to work with global, highly-matrixed agile product teams
·  Experience driving product initiatives from conception to launch and ensuing iterations strongly preferred
·  Demonstrable experience working in an agile product development environment strongly preferred
·  Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams through influence
·  Entrepreneurial mindset, strong analytical skills, big-picture thinking
·  Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of independence
·  Flexible and willing to travel internationally and domestically.
·  You understand customer needs, actively track competitive activity, identify opportunities within the market place and develop relevant plans to drive sustainable profitable growth. You will be a hands-on business minded professional with a passion towards data driven business outcomes
·  Proven experience in understanding digital and leveraging data and analytics assets to drive strong business outcomes by focusing on reducing the time to proof of value and time to insight
