Mars Petcare / Royal Canin/Commercial

CONTEXT:

In its journey to be the world leader in health nutrition for cats and dogs, Royal Canin puts raw materials at the first step of the value chain. In order to maintain consistency in its finish product and fuel the innovation loops, the raw materials delivered to RC must reach best in class quality level. The EU supplier portfolio is composed of around 250 supplier’s sites, for 140 raw materials. Every days RC is receiving nearly 65 deliveries, which need to be under control.

 

The SQA Officer will do around 30 audits per year plus some business travel as meeting, visit (30% of working days).

In this context the SQA is involved in the supplier / raw material development process, driving the continuous improvement of current partners.

 

She/he is accountable with the buyer that all suppliers respect RC quality expectations and values/fundamentals.

 

To succeed in his mission, the SQA Officer needs to build collaborative links internally with R&D, Q&FS, and Supply department, and externally with our suppliers in order to deploy MQM, HRCI, Mycotoxine and all Mars standards.

 

Audit, statistical data analysis, high knowledge of ISO norms (9001, 14001, 22000…) and Royal Canin  10 rules should be the foundation of a SQA daily job.

 

By being in the field, the SQA Officer is able to share with the commercial community all the information related to business opportunities, quality management, and sustainability management of existing RC suppliers or potential prospects.

 

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

•  The function requires full commitment and active participation among the SQA community.

•  Assure quality, food safety, and legality of raw material supplied to all manufacturing sites.

•  Perform supplier site audits (risk assessments) and suppliers evaluation

•  Manage Material-related exception & nonconformance

•  Manage the Material Quality Management process through proper metrics and measures, consolidated and reported to keystakeholders

•  Complete Supplier Quality Assurance commitments related to the Material Risk Assessment process 

•  Drive continuous improvement of quality of Royal Canin raw material at supplier level in collaboration with RC stakeholder

•  Communicate to the buyer the business opportunities identified through supplier contacts

•  Support the development and implementation of new raw materials in response to the Innovation Pipeline

•  Anticipate/ Manage raw materials related issues and crisis effectively to minimize business impact.

 

  PROFILE:

 

  Training:

·   Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering or similar technical fiel
·   Need to satisfactorily completed during the first year an accredited Lead Auditor training course (or actively progressing towards this certification if a SQA auditor) to enable IRCA/RABQSA/or equivalent certification

 

 Experience:

A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a technical area such as R&D product development, quality assurance, laboratory or food engineering

Fluent in English and French is a must, fluent in another language is good to have
